Four months ago plans were made for the Fireship to pay us a visit again and bring with them kazoos.
Sticking to their word, Nick and Aaron were in this week and didn't disappoint. They even brought us some new friends to play with! Shelby Pollard who is a fantastic blues musician as well as Bobbi and Eric from Chicago HOPES. Besides a fabulous party, it was also a family affair!
Now the reason we had all these beautiful people in is simple: Benefit Show. Chicago HOPES is an organization that helps homeless children in Chicago. The show The Fireship and Shelby are playing helps tutoring programs.
Really cool part: philanthropy (not to be confused with THIS) Helping out people is way-cool and not done as frequently as it should be. Of course there are some perks besides feeling good: there's a gnarly raffling that will be happening as well as your chance to eat dinner with the bands (guaranteed if you purchase the VIP tickets. you also get a sweet gift bag with a candle made from crayons!)
